Alkyl phosphates

Brief description

The alkyl phosphates family consists of a group of different phosphoric esters. They are used as highly polar solvents for different extraction processes, serve as defoamers for paints or concrete additives for example, are used as flame retardants or perform tasks in a variety of chemical synthesis processes. Other potential applications are their use as release agents in the PU sector, strongly acidic catalyst for chemical conversions or for the formulation of antistatic agents.

This category also includes the self-emulsifying preparations Defoamer TE and Defoamer TRE, which are mainly used as defoamers.

Defoamer TE

Self-emulsifying, anhydrous preparation from nonionic emulsifier and tri-n-butyl phosphate.
Can be mixed with water in virtually any ratio. However, without adding thickeners, the corresponding emulsions are relatively stable up to a dilution ratio of 1:5 only.
